Signing up to BC is a last resort since less of a saving and get nothing out of it other than the code.0

It's not the first time you have asked and I'm sure it won't be the last, just sign up if you think you'll spend more than £260 at chain reaction cycles in 12 months.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

I guess at some point they'll allow authentication from the BC website and will stop issuing codes every month, unless its only short term.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0

He'd still get about 5% off then.
There ave been a few people asking for them recently and if CRC cotton on I can see the benefit disappearing pretty sharpish.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

I asked for a code since crc issue them at random to people through out the year, im usually lucky enough to get one just after i buy something so don't need it.
If i have to i will join BC but it just means i save less, CRC don't lose out either way and BC get my money for nothing.0 -
I think people might be a bit more sympathetic if you were a bit more polite, perhaps saying "please" or "I'd be very grateful..." for example. I know it's pretty old-school these days, but believe it or not, some people still appreciate it.
FWIW, most people who are BC members find it has more benefits than simply being a CRC voucher mailing list. Have a look into it and you might be surprised.0 -
Have to agree with the comments regarding BC membership. I unfortunately had to make use of the free legal services earlier this year, swiftly dealt with and claim has been settled. It certainly was worth the membership fee without even factoring in discount vouchers available to use, even on non cycling kit (Halfords).0

Halfords refused mine last week - said it's only for cycling kit, is this right?
PS Agree join BC OP.0 -

I've only used it recently for cycle bits but have previously used it for car tools and a baby car seat. I was challenged on one occasion but stood firm and they applied the discount.
Wording on the BC website states "Members and official Fans of British Cycling can save 10% off everything at Halfords (excluding gift vouchers) to spend on any products in store, including sale items."0 -
I've used it on non-cycling bits, it quite clearly states that it can be used for everything. In future I'd either have the web page where it says this on the BC website to hand on your phone (or print it off) or pay for your items at the cycling desk instead of the main tills, the cycling staff are more likely to know about the discount.0

The assumption made several times in this thread that BC membership is worthless is a disgrace. All of us should have some level of membership... the legal cover is fantastic.0

Agreed and it also provides some level of financial protection should you cause an accident.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
