Keo cleats snagging on release

Afternoon peeps.

I've recently picked up some cheap Exustar Keo pedals off a mate with some battered looking cleats. They engage fine and clip out nicely, but can be a bit snaggly to get my feet clear of the pedals.

Is this a Look thing? Are my cleats knackered? Are the pedals carp?

I had tried SPD SLs previously but they were a bugger to get in to and stiff to clip out of and I've been using SPDs recently, these are seeming like a good compromise at the moment, but I'd rather not topple over if I can help it. I would just like to narrow it down before wasting a tenner on new cleats if they're not the issue.

New cleats required, if that doesn't work new pedals as well IMO.

I sometimes get this and I have new pedals and cleats. Seems to be a thing with the Keos, they unclip but then the cleat can get hung up unless I make a very deliberate movement to rotate out of it. Possibly too used to SPD's at the moment, I never remember having a problem with standard Look deltas. Practice makes perfect :)
