bottom bracket spindle length
Im building my first road bike.
I want a single chainring at the front. So I ordered these

Think ill have a 7-8 speed cassette. I need a 68mm bottom bracket but what spindle length would be best?
I was planning on getting a 188mm spindle length, purely because its in the middle of those available.
Any help much appreciated

It matters not, win or lose, it's how you ride the bike

Guess you mean 118 mm.
Could be fine for cranks without offset, but measurements are better.0 -
Sorry yes, 118mm was what I meant. Am I bet to wait for a rear wheel and cassette and then take a measurement? It matters not, win or lose, it's how you ride the bike0

Yes, and you have also to consider the clearance of cranks-chainstays., so gambling might work but can end up in buying twice...0
