I have looked on the council website for a timetable and it appears to be open until about 8pm every day. Is it available for MAMILS to turn up and do a few laps? Is there any racing there?

There is racing there.
Somer Valley are holding some on 19th May as part of a series.

If you just want to ride around it there are various sessions.

Unless you are actually racing - just riding around a circuit like that is very, very dull. The roads outside the circuit would literally be much more interesting.0
