Fork Confusion Abounds - Which 120mm Fork?

More dumbass questions from me.

I want to buy a tapered steerer Rockshox fork to increase travel from 100mm to 120mm on a 650B Anthem. It currently has Rebas. If I'm spending a fair bit on a replacement then I may as well spend a little more for an upgrade.

I thought that Revelations have adjustable travel from 110-140mm? But for the 650b SRAM states:-

travel: 26": 150/140/130mm, 27.5": 150/140/130/100mm, 29": 140/130/120mm

But then it also says that only 26" and 29" are available so that makes me doubt the accuracy.

from: https://www.sram.com/rockshox/products/ ... -rlt#specs

So for the 650B 130mm will be too much, I already have 100. It seems the only option is a Reba RL in 120mm but a Revelation would be more suited to moving to a longer travel bike if I ever got one, and if I've spent 300 on Reba I may as well spend a little more for the flexibility of a longer travel fork.

Is that right then? That Revalations cannot be set to 110/120mm in 650B? Are there any other options? I know nothing about Fox and would prefer to stay RS.

have you checked with Giant that the frame will take a longer travel fork?

I wouldn't go above 120mm as the anthem is more an xc bike I thought.

What's wrong with the current reba's as you could get the air spring changed in those to 120mm travel I think, best check with places like tf tuned who service rockshox forks.

Giant do the Anthem SX which is the same frame with a 120mm fork. 120mm is what I want, I don't want to go longer but would prefer a revelation set to 120 hence my question.

I've asked Loco and TFT and they say they can't tell with OEM forks without looking at them but from what I've read my forks won't be able to go up to 120, with earlier models you could, but they had 120mm markings on the stanchions, mine don't only 80 and 100.

Can anyone answer my original question: can current revelations for 650b be set to 110 or 120mm?

What would you do with your current frame if/when you changed to a frame with more suspension? If you are going to sell it, why not just sell it with the 120mm Reba on it and then get a longer travel fork to go with the new frame?

Fair answer. I guess my thinking is that it currently has Overdrive 2 100mm Reba on which is 1.5-1.25 tapered which fits nothing other than Overdrive 2 so therefore I would put the 100mm's back on if I was to sell it as I can't imagine I will be able to sell the current forks to anyone.

if you are wanting to get a fork that you can adjust later consider getting the X-fusion sweep. 34mm and interally adjustable 100-160mm.

Solo air Rockshox forks don't have internal travel adjust spacers. The ones with external adjustment can only be set in two positions, either fully lowered or fully extended.
If you get a Revelation with travel adjust you can't set it to 120mm, it's either fully extended or dropped to 110mm
