I shall be packing my case for today for my first ever trip to Majorca.
Hiring a bike out there. After somelast minute advice. Is there anything I need to take that I might not have thought of?
How easy is it to find other people to ride with, that are of the same ability. Any rides I should do? I'm staying in Peurto Pollensa.

Loads of different groups pedal out of Pollensa every day at this time of year. Tag onto the back of one that looks to be doing 'your kind of speed' and hope they don't mind....

Garmin, puncture kit, gels, mini-tool, etc. etc.

As for rides, depends on your fitness, but you should do Sa Calobra at least.

Take your own saddle! :-) We got back from PP on saturday - it was awesome.
Some good places to eat are La Cabana, Bottega Con Ferra and Tolo's.

We used this site to find some rides http://www.tmracing.org.uk/bi-po/ its a mixed bag of flats and hills and various lengths.

Apparently a ride goes out from Tolo's daily.

    Have a fabulous time!

Cheers guys. Looking forward to it. May be a bit of a shock compared to the flat lands of Cambridgeshire.
  • Pro Cycle hire do rides on Tuesday's and Thursday's from PP.

I flew home from Puerto Pollensa yesterday after 7 days of riding - the weather is warming up so definitely take sun tan lotion!!!

Here are the rides I did, feel free to use them.....

    Cap de Formentor
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/757593536

Eastern Mountain Loop - Famenia, Soller & Col d'Honor
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/758605602

Eastern Mountain Loop in Reverse - Coll d’Orient, Coll de Soller and the mighty Puig Major.
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/761204139

Sa Calobra - Coll de sa Batalla & Soller (consider taking a side road 2km from the bottom of the descent of Sa Colabra, sign posted to Tuent - it's a quiet bay with a restaurant overlooking it. So much better than the town of Sa Calobra).
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/760299467

Loop of Arta, Sineu & Campanet - relatively flat but usually into a headwind!

Regardless of what routes you choose to do, I'm sure you'll have a great time!!
