Yes, it's another thread begging for help narrowing down that final decision to actually spend the money and move on from spending way too long drooling and procrastinating over websites and bike shops.

Like many, work have offered us the Cycle Scheme option so I'm taking the opportunity to get myself a new bike. It will of course be used for getting to work but will also be getting dirty from time to time. Nothing too serious, just some local trails.

I've narrowed it down to ..... 5, but I'm finding it hard to remove any from the running without some additional input.

Scott Scale 760 2015: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/sco ... e-ec075437

Anyone with experience on these particular bikes or with some insight into individual components that rise one bike over the rest? Thanks for any help!

For me the Trek has them all on spec alone. The fact it runs a Reba fork over the not great XC30/32. It also seems to have a much better group set and brakes.

    Maybe another one to consider?

  • Yea, I spotted the Reba fork and thought that might tip the balance. The Trek has been tricky to find reviews of though.

I'll also take a look at the Decathlon bike - we're actually off there this afternoon to look for a first bike for the little one.
  • Update; went down to Decathlon. Didn't have that model in the shop but managed to chat to staff, get sized up .....and bought the little one her first bike :D

Anyway, the fork on that B'TWIN is over 400 quid on it's own!?!

Btwins are renowned for being fantastic value for money and the spec is really good.

A riding colleague has the slightly older version, the Rockrider 9.1, excellent ride, for UK trail centres though it very much benefitted from a shorter stem.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
