Morning Losers!
I've got the day off work! Woooo! I had a chat with my boss about taking all the Fridays in May off to help practise towards the Coast2Coast, and she thinks it's a good idea. I struggle to get out on the bike once I get home from work, so having a long weekend is really going to help!
Today I'm going to go and find the start of the Pennine Way again, and maybe ride a bit of it today. My plan is to cycle back to Bury one day. Not today though.
Later, I'm being paid for waving my arms about. Score.

It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

TKM - Jammy git!
I'm working from home today after a working away most of the week, so tons of action points and emails = too much work and not enough play. We also need to pick up a the new 'skip' car for the current wife.
Later will obviously involve the pub.0 -
How can you call TKM a jammy git when you've got a day off as well. Well, w@nking from home is as good as a day off anyway.
Had a very slow ride in today, had enough of playing with the traffic yesterday. Good to be on the bike, even if I am slow and sickly. These steroids can't be much good, I'm still knackered and certainly couldn't ride any faster. Anyway, it's fryday so fried pig based products will be consumed, until then tea and chocolate digestives.0 -
Mehning feckwads!
Rode in on the singlespeed death trap for the CCC2CC training this morning, 14 miles of mostly up hill head wind riding, hopefully the wind will stay for the way home?
Sausage and bacon stick is being consumed right now and more coffees will be drunk shortly.
Man BBQ competition this weekend so readying the house and will be preparing my meaty creations!

TFI Friday, finally.
After yesterdays failed outing with the chair, I have successfully delivered it to school this morning. Bumped into a friend there and he's going to pick it up for me later. Saves me a job. Also getting an extra harness for it. My good mood from this success changed pretty quickly when I arrived at work. I hate this site for now good reason and I'm glad I wont be back here for a while, if it all. The rest of the day will be spent dodging work meh. Except for lunch time, that'll be spent looking a good sandwich shop to save me from buying another bag of cr@p from sainsburys.
Weekend plans involve a 3 hour drive to the peak district to go for a ride. Hopefully some good hills to help with my c2c training as the overall distance in only about 13 miles.

Afternoon Crudites
Start of my 10 day weekend, why can't they all be that long. 24 years old again today, luckiliy for me I am 24 every year Had a lazy day so far but am now about to eat some choc fudge cake and go out for a ride on the motorbike. I think a few beers will be on the cards later as well.
I had this arrive in the post today, Woodfordes microbrewery kit. Still need to buy an aquarium heater and a big tub to stick the bucket in, basically a heated bath for the bucket so it ferments properly. Did I mention I have cake.....

Good day you bunch of w1lly watchers.
Shoot all happened at work, though a bacons butty helped the tedium, got slow puncture on the car checked on way home and ended up with a new tyre, which i could have done without.
Long weekend has started and i feel that foods, boozes, tvs and sports will feature in varying degrees.
Enjoy the traffic those that are communting, i shall be feeling your pain watching the jams on the evenings news with a few beers!

Heading over to Wales this evening for a weekend at the outdoor education centre - kayaking, canoeing, climbing or something similar tomorrow, and then out on the bikes on Sunday. The bikes are travelling attached to the roof of the car - a maiden voyage for my roof mounted bike carriers, so hopefully they won't fall off somewhere on the M6...0

Just got back in from an interesting ride. I stuck to the Pennine Way, this was a mistake. It started off beautifully, I really mean it, downhill for a mile or so, nice swoopy, droppy, rocky, loved it. Then I could have followed a newer, flatter, quicker path, or carry on the PW. Next time, I'll go left.
I then pressed stop as I rested, and pressed go again about 5 miles later! Fail.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Afternoon Pond Life,
Just escaping on the train now as the bike had to stay in the LBS after the didn't manage to get hold of all the parts. Double bummer when I went to do the bacon sarnie run this morning and found the greasy spoon was closed for refurbishment  Fark it, long weekend is here and I have drink at home 8)"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." Yeah my mate has done quite a few using the same kit, loads of different beer/ale kits to buy and they are miles better than they were a few years ago. You can get alot of proper ales that you can buy in the pub/shops now as well and the taste if done correctly is very close to the original.
We did a tour of the Woodfordes brewery for my mates stag do as its only a few miles away. The guy was saying the kits are very close as when they (Muntons I believe) develop the kit they get sent to Woodfordes brewery for testing to make sure the finished product is close enough to the real stuff. He said the "headcracker" ale kit took them quite a few goes to get right, funny brew as its about 7% ish. You know about it if you have a few pints
The Wherry is one the most popular as its very tasty and easy for the novice and experienced brewers to make properly. The kit cost around £20 or less if you are lucky and makes 40 pints. That brewers kit I ordered is £65 including the wherry kit. So once you have done a few brews to recoup the cost of the home brew kit its cheap as chips. Been reading up on a home brew forum, lots of good advice about.
Beer/ale kits go from about £10 to £30 ish (1 or 2 tins of malt extract with brewers yeast), then you have the "extract" kits which is next up the home brew ladder where you boil the ingredients up in a pan to make the extract (instead of the tins in the easy/beginners kits) and finally you have the proper full grain do it all your self like a brewey stuff.
This is where I bought mine from http://www.brewuk.co.uk/complete-woodfo ... t-set.html
Have a look at the kits and they have a forum as well (a few other forums as well if you search)0
