chainring bolts

Basically ive taken off the big ring on a shimano m552 as im wanting to go to a double, however im aware i will need some shorter chainring Bolts as the current ones are now too long.(10.4 mm complete) Could someone please suggest any that would fit as most dont list the size on chain reactions website. I went to evans yesterday and asked for doubles only to later find when i got home he had given me exactly the same bloody size, even says triple on the box!!
