Hi all,

This is my first post so go easy. I'm on the hunt for a new Hardtail with a top end budget of around £600, I've looked around alot and by means of my LBS I've narrowed it down to a couple. I'm open to either 650b or 29er as i've ridden on both, I know alot of people rave about the Bizango but there's just something that really puts me off, no idea why but I don't want to invest in something I'm not going to love :)

Let me know what you think :) I'm leaning toward the Scott 650b also looked into the Boardman comp 650b which could be an option, like I said go easy, I'm practically a nooby when it comes to buying :)

hi there,i am also a newbie and have been trying to narrow down my search for a ht bike also with a £600 budget.loads of people advise the bizango,i also have found that the Carrera fury is also recommended by quite a few clued up people on here too.you can get 10% off these in Halfords by joining british cycling which costs £20.i did have specialized rockhopper and pitch on my list too but have been told to leave them alone at that price as they don't have as good a spec as the others at this price.hope this helps you a little at least..good luck with your search

Those are all dire for the money, at this price point the big names tend to be, for that money the three main choices are the Carrera Fury, Voodoo Bizango (Both from Halfords) and the Rockrider 560 (from Decathlon) depending on the type of riding you expect to do and personal preference, all are much better specced than the above, bear in mind that it's only the frame that is unique to a manufacturer, the rest are generic items bought in.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Thanks for the reply Mike, i actually ended up settling on the x-caliber 7 from my LBS, after a test ride it just felt right, definately isn't the best spec for the price but overall it's not bad and the frame is brilliant. Certainly had fun out on the trails with my 2 friends one with a 26er Carrera Fury and one on the 27.5 Talon, defaintely loving the feeling of a 29er and I shall be upgrading parts as there wear or drop off, got my eye on a few things already. Much appreciated for all your input! :)
