Second hand Stages and Garmin 705

Second hand Stages power meter....would you buy one?

To me a new one is a bit out of my price range, but a good deal on a 2nd hand unit may be doable.

Also I intend to run it on my Garmin 705 which I have read may not receive data as well as newer Garmins.

Anyone run a Stages + 705?

    It's a strain gauge and some solid state electronics. Not a lot to go wrong IMO.

    With the exchange rate favourable atm you can pick up a new Stages from £450, how much are second hand ones?

    I agree about not a lot to go wrong, apparently most problems are firmware related or the battery door.

    Good point SS, second hand is not far short of £400.
