i got scott r2 road bike it has Shimano RD-6700 Ultegra SS running a 11-25 what to change to a 12-30 do have buy the a Shimano Ultegra RD-6700 Rear Derailleur (GS) to run 12-30.look at shimano wed site say largest sproket a 28.just want charge the cassette + chian to get 12-30.don.t want have buy Rear Derailleur.any info please :D

    You should just be able to get away with the short cage and the 30t, but you might have to remove the b-tension screw and put it in backwards to get the jockey wheel to clear the cog.

    I ran 12-30 without any problems on my SS 6700. I will be selling a tiagra cassette (brand new) 12-30 tonight for not much cash (not a lot new) so you could try that with very little expenditure if you are still worried.
