Classic Classics
I only started following cycling in 2007. Call it the "Evans Effect" or perhaps the "Cadel Contamination" if you wish to be unkind.
And like most new cycling fans, it took me about a year to find great joy in the classics, and realise that the Tour was not the only race.
My wife is going away for a week, so I have decided to bring the trainer in the lounge room and watch cycling while I'm peddling away.
My request is:
What classics from pre-2007 should I watch?
Using search engine on Cycling Torrents there is a Paris Roubaix 85-86-87 Compilation, and also a 88-89? Worth watching? I don't know who won yet so please avoid spoilers.
There was also a 1997 of Wallone/LBL? Back in the  old days.
What is your favourite(s)?
PS: If anyone was to ask me what 5 or 10 AFL matches from the past 25 years you should watch, I'm your man.

Paris Roubaix from 01 to around 06 were all pretty decent.
09 was OK but got very exciting on Carrefour de l'Arbre.0 -
The 1992 Milan-San Remo. Experience overcomes an, ahem, well-prepared rival.
The 1993 Fleche-Wallone. Fondriest on a Colnago Bi-Carbitubo. Pure class.
Not a classic, but the 1995 World Road Race Championship is worth a look. Possibly one of the greatest one-day road races of recent times.

You're not very good at this "pre-2007" thing, are you?

1994 paris roubaix insanity and duffers alan partridge moment.
1994 fleche for the orange juice"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -

Both to show true grit and endurance.
1994 P-R with Johan Museeuw trying to catch his former team mate Andrei Tchmil and blowing up as Tchmil went on to win.
The 2010 K-B-K I stood in atrocious weather to see Ian Stannard (England) doing most of the work but beaten to 3rd place.
Ignore 1994 Fleche because that rubbish was about "Drugs"Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
