I will be taking both bikes out for a test ride over the weekend to help decide which bike to buy, I will be using them for cross country and some single track, just wanted to know peoples opinions on these bikes.
A mouthfull of mud, i guess ive crashed

    Picked up an EX 8 yesterday and have been out all day on it.

    Love it, a real cracking bike.

    I`ve yet to find any Giant bike that I like.

    Opposite here, Giants maestro suspension is very good, ultimately though I'd go with your gut feeling once ridden and don't try second guessing yourself on spec etc. in essence the only opinion that counts is yours.

    Must admit I found the Trek to feel very 'mushy', the Giant on the other hand feels much more dialled in, responsive, alive (delete depending on your preference).
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    Both good bikes but Giants rear suspension feels much better to me.
