BMC Pro Machine SLC01 2010 head set?

Building one of these and the headset bearings are nearly shot. Ive now bought 3 sets of bearings and non of them mate properly with the crown race. The lower bearing isnt the same as the top and has no writing on it. Im not even sure the top bearing is correct as there is a biggish gap between the cover and the frame. One thing I do know is they are both 8 mm deep which is unusual. Im now thinking best to buy complete new headset so does anybody know what headset it should be for this frame?

I've just had a look at a spare and it's an FSA Orbit CF 15mm x 1 1/8. 45x45, both sets of bearings are identical. You can buy the carbon fibre headset at tredz for about £70 but I'd guess that there's a standard one for about £30.
