Is it true…are the tickets for this REALLY going to be £50!!

WOW..for that money you just have to hope he shatters the record….everyone wants a taste don't they!
I read that Alex Dowsetts attempt coming soon will be about £11 to get into the venue, and good luck to him too.
The £50 just comes from the hyperbole surrounding Sir BW…good luck to him if he's pocketing a wad…but I bet the venue is making a wedge too!!
For me I will watch it on a highlight reel somewhere..I refuse to pay Sky Sports after the obscene football deal!!

That's an average concert ticket price so I can't see the fuss tbh.

Manchester vs London; that's about the going rate for Lee Valley tickets.

But like any event or gig, the big names carry bigger money too.

I see your point….but it's not a concert..its a guy going round and round….and round a track…hopefully as I say, he hammers the record..he's good enough if he's on his game, but £50 is a bit high…I wouldn't be at al surprised to see Sky, one of the main sponsors put it on pay per view!! I just hope Sir Brad is taking a hugh chunk, because think of him what you will, he was the first and ONLY true Brit to win the TDF….in my opinion of course..feel free to shoot me down!! Hey i expect it on here!!! :D:D:D

You totally right though. It's a money maker. But I bet the atmosphere will be pretty good though!
  • Is Froome going to tow him around like in France 2012?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

It's from 3-8pm and apparently they'll be £29 tickets available and yes, there are other things on before and probably after the main event.

Still will work out expensive but they sell decent beer and the atmosphere will be good!

That price is a bit ridiculous, but not unexpected. I think the atmosphere will be good for the first 10 laps and the last 10 laps but other than that will be incredibly boring.

Do you get any kind of warm up acts for your £50?! Maybe Dave Brailsford vs Brian Cookson in the Sprint?

    Venue doesn't set the prices.
Apparently it's going to be live on Sky sports aswell.

Hopefully there will be beer to help pass the time.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

If the venue is filled, they charged the right amount.

You make your own choice. I'll be on my bike somewhere else.

Sold out, heard it was 6500 tickets sold within 10 minutes.
Good to the man. Wish I had tickets as it'll be a fairly special atmosphere. I just attempted to buy them at 1030 and all gone.

Surely The Proclaimers would be walking?

That was his job that year though wasn't it?

Did Froome not get towed around when he won?

Froome can go for the hour record too I assume?
Would prefer the Wiggodrome to the Velofroome personally though.

Wiggins has a lot of nut huggers so I'm sure the tickets will sell super quickly.

You didn't hear the 12" remix 'I would ride 500 miles' then? :D:D

They did sell quickly, sold out in 15 minutes.
  • What were you expecting? They were hardly going to flog them for a few quid. Even events like the Revolution series aren't that cheap.
