As the title says, which would you go for?
The Boardman http://www.boardmanbikes.com/mtb/29er_pro.html I have sat on and can get for £900 with British Cycling discount.
The Giant http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bik ... ifications, I can also get for £900.
Yes the Giant has slightly 'racier' geometry (71.5HA vs 69HA) and it is lower spec, but as things wear out/fail I would upgrade the Giant (Reba/SID, SLX/XT, tubeless wheels). As most of my riding is XC and based in the flatlands of East Anglia, at the moment, I don't need/want anything burlier.
Current bikes are 2004/5 Giant NRS running SIDs and mix of SLX/XT and an On-One Scandal set up as a rigid single speed.
So any thoughts on these two or alternatives?

Just because you can doesn't mean you should
