Firstly would the shimano mt15 wheels accomodate a 10 speed cassette, ive seen on some websites they list up to 9 speed and on others 10?? Secondly, does it matter what speed a crankset is? For instance if i bought a deore 9 speed Cran. Would it be fine to run a 10 speed cassette on the back??

It's a cassette and freehub though. Not a freewheel.

Nine and ten speed cassettes are the same width and so the freehub will take either.

The chainring separation is narrower for a ten speed than a nine speed, but many people use a 9 speed setup with 10 speed rear and 10 speed chain without issues, but I wouldn't go as far as using an 8 speed chainset.
