Garmin Training Centre file transfer to Garmin Connect

I have an Edge 705 since 2009 and have stored my rides using the training centre. For some reason I have tried to use the Express/Connect system which took the current rides on the 705 and cancelled the record so that I cannot keep a full years record on the training centre.
Garmin no longer support ' training centre' and therefore have lost all knowledge as to how it works.
The information i need is how do i trf. the details i have for this year in TC to Connect - or vice versa - Garmin say it can be done but as they 'do not support it' will/can not tell me how.
Can any one help?

The answer might be something to do with the lack of support of training centre.
You need to get with the times. And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.0 -
You need to export the data from Training Centre. You should be able to export each activity as a .tcx file. You can import these into Garmin Connect (along with .gpx and .fit files). I think you would have to import one at a time in Connect though.
In connect go to you activities page. In the top rh corner there is a import link. Use that to import from a file.
You can also export activities from Connect if you want to put them into Training Centre. Just export them as a .gpx or .tcx file.0 -
Thank you neXXus that was really helpful. I am trying to 'get with the times' that is why I asked the question in the first place. My disappointment with Garmin is that because they no longer support T C they seem to have forgotten how it used to work as well and have given no assistance in getting at least this years rides into connect.
Thank you as well wongataa that was a lot more helpful to a computer idiot, whether I will be able to find and transfer the data files is another thing. But thank you any way.0 -
Open Training Center
Right click on activity or date range to be exported*
Select Export "date/time" or "Date range" (one week only at a time)
Save it to your computer "Desktop"
Open and sign into garmin connect
Click Menu icon
Select Activities
Click Import
Click Browse / Choose File button
Navigate to file saved on Desktop
Click on the saved file
Click Open
Click on Upload Activities from file
Or... Why not plug your garmin in, open connect in classic view and upload directly from it?
Then uninstall training centre and remove all thoughts of it from deep within your brain. Job doneAnd the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.0 -
Thanks now what's desktop - and I'm only partly joking.0
