New Rider - New Bike! Jamis Dakota

Hey all! Just wanted to say hi to everyone, last year decided to get back in to riding so bought a Jamis Dakota Comp D29 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/jam ... e-ec060934
It's my first new proper mountain bike so to speak, had a mongoose dirt jump bike a few years ago but sold it a couple years ago. I really like this bike though, it doesn't seem to be a popular make in the UK but when I was trying out bikes at Evan's Cycles it felt so much nicer than all the other bikes in the price range (Scott, Specialised etc) 29" wheels feel pretty big and and tricky to hop around with at first but I'm getting used to it and the stability and coasting is great.
I don't really like the pedals on it though, a little slippy with even a little bit of mud. I had DMR V8s on my jump bike but didn't think to keep them when I sold it. Contemplating getting another pair of V8s or Shimano Saint MX80s but aren't sure of the differences much or alternatives, any advice would be appreciated!

Rode on V8`s today during a test ride, and scrounged free pedals with the bike, The guy offered Saints, and assured me they were a better pedal so I took them.Trek,,,, too cool for school ,, apparently0

Had the V8s, didn't mind them, but the superstar nano I have now are far better for me, larger platform and gripper, plus a decent price too. Not tried the saints, looked at them when I bought the nanos, look good but heavier.0

Ooooh they're awesome looking pedals - Think I might get a pair of them! Is the only place to buy them on the superstar components website? Now I have to choose between thru-pin or not and colour! I'm scared being a member of this forum will be like when I joined overclock.net for my computer - my wallet had a bad time!

Yeah, they're their own brand, some nukeproof branded pedals are identical but more expensive.0
