Hi, I've got a Shimano Zee Crankset, Ive just changed the ring to 1 with less teeth. I'm having some trouble getting he bolts to tighten, is there a way to do it without using a special tool?
Cheers

It depends which tool you need. If the old type a screwdriver or a knife can help."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

With the threads clean I've never had a problem just pushing in the female with my finger and creating enough friction to do it up.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
