Handlebar/Cyclist Palsy?!

Just wondering if anybodies got any experience on this or how to treat it?
When I'm on a ride say 2hr/3 I'll feel nothing at all absolutely fine but as soon as I get off I feel complete weakness in my hand struggle to text etc etc.
Is it something that will go away on its own? Will I do damage if I carry on riding?

I'm a joiner by trade and suffer with the exact same thing after I've been using a hammer for any length of time. I also would be interested to hear people's views on this, maybe it's something to do with your hands being in the same position for an amount of time?Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day0

Go see a Dr
sounds like ulnar or Median nerve compression . Usual advice is bike fit, core strength, gel pads on handlebars,
change position often. Wont help Moe I'm afraid0 -
Core strength made the biggest difference to me. Everything else was just hiding it but that solved the problem.I'm left handed, if that matters.0

lost feeling in left hand for a week last year after two days mainly in the drops.
keep changing hand position is my tip, seems to stop it.0 -
core strength really helps, when I started I couldn't really support my upper body weight when riding, I was using my arms to hold myself up, now I ride with my arms loose and bent and my upper body holds itself up, it's much easier on the hands
that said, if I don't change hand position enough I will still get weakness / numbness, so make sure to do that0 -
Is it possible that your gripping the bars too tightly?0
