Mavic grip/power link vs vittoria corsa cx

Has anyone used both to make a comparison please?

Got a new wheelset with the mavic tyres on which will I'll be using for a trip to Mallorca. I normally use the CXs out there, are the mavics going to be noticeably worse? Heard they're not great in the wet, but mainly concerned with general grip coming down mountains in the dry and rolling speed....

    Are we talking tubulars here?

I've used both, and both are very good - I like the idea of front and rear specific - I think the Mavics have grippier rubber on the front. I've never had any problems with them.

Victorias are great too, just stay away from the older EVO model - bad in the wet.

I've got the Mavics in 23mm on a pair of RSYS SLRS and have run Corsa tubs and clinchers on my other bikes. The ride on the Mavics is a wee bit harder so I lower the pressure a tad. Rode from Edinburgh to Sheffield last summer on the Mavics on both wet and dry roads in varying states and they did the job with no issues. Some of those Yorkshire descents are a bit mental but I never felt my life was at risk! :-D I’d personally just run them until worn and they replace with Corsa’s if you’re not happy with the ride quality. I’m going to buy another pair of the Mavic’s and ride Veloflex and Vittoria on my other bikes.

Cheers both, they are only the clincher version but sounds like it's worth giving them a try.

I've used the 25mm clinchers and liked them. I was a little nervous with them in the wet having heard they had poor grip in the wet but never had an actual problem. I haven't tried Vittoria Corsa CX though so can't compare. They do give a much nicer ride than 25mm Continental GP 4 Seasons and probably ride a little nicer than my current 25mm Michelin Pro4 SC tyres - Though overall I think I like the Michelins best as all rounders.

The mavic tyres are fine. You should have no problems with them for that sort of riding. I have just swapped out a rear Yksion pro clincher tyre after 5500km of incident (and puncture) free riding. The front is still going strong.

No punctures at all last year in about 3k miles on Ultremo ZX, about 300 miles on Yksions and three punctures, two of them today. Totally a coincidence but clouding my judgement on the Mavics although they're not cutting up like the Schwalbes do.
