Was very pleased with my knog blinder 3 , used on giant Defy 2 for occasional Saturday club runs in winter when the fog/mist hangs around.only used it a handful of times( recharged 5 times max) and the metal clip has pinged off the integral strap. Less than a year old from Wiggle. I've contacted them regarding a replacement. Anyone else on here had the same bother? Google shows it as a common problem. Big of a bummer as it's the integral strap that seems to fail.

Had the same happen on a 3 or 4 myself. Took it back to Evans and had it replaced.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

if you get fed up of it I'd recommend the small Lezyne lights if its just a 10p-sized flasher you need. Very sturdy.

I've given up on Knog - I have had those small silicone strap on LED's, and not only does the silicone split (has happened twice - can't handle oversized bars), the moisture gets into the battery compartment and causes the light to come on even after you have turned it off. I've never tried the Blinder, but I never will after my experiences.

Agree about the Lezyne lights, they do look very sturdy and a good construction.

I bought a Blinder R in october and the strap lasted about 3 months before it split
Returned to wiggle and said ill have a new one if they strap has been revised but they sent a new one anyway and didnt reply to my question.

I now take it off after every ride, and so far so good, but i have only used it about 10 times.

Time will tell i guess but now its lighter i doubt ill be using it any time soon.

Ace light, but crap retaining strap.
My winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...

It's a real shame, the light is very good but the strap really is pants. I've found my order from a Wiggle and notified them, they wanted photos so their team can work out what happened.I've already told them that it snapped as I tried to put in on the bike. A £50 light with a two bob fitting mechanism. I took it off the bike after it was used every time, that was only a handful of times. Let's see what they come up with.

I've had a Knog Gekko on my headtube for the last 4 years and the band is showing know signs of breaking, why can't the Blinder be like this?

I glued the metal clip back in, and this has held the last 9 months or so.
