Good afternoon,

I've just received my BB30 adapter and need to secure it into my frame.

I've read the Loctite 609 is recommended, but it costs a fortune. Is there an alternative thats just as effective?

Thanks for any help.

Not really... that product is designed to fit bearings where the casing is not smaller than the actual bearing, providing the extra material to keep everything tight. Other Loctite products don't do the same thing

Cervelo/BBRight recommend Loctite 641 for PF30 type installations, no idea if this is any good for a BB30 adapter or if it is any cheaper.

641 is pretty well interchangeable with 609. You can buy date-expired Loctite cheaply on ebay - in my experience it rarely goes 'off'. If you're using with non-metallic materials e.g. carbon, you'll also need Actuator
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
