Hi all - have a pair of full carbon wheels with yellow swisstop pads and the squealing is driving me mental.

Any tips on reducing or eliminating the noise? Feel like a plonker pulling up at lights.

Wheels are unknown origin, chinese affairs I presume.

Cheers.

I had the same problem with the Swissstop yellow, - cork pads are fine.

Heel in the non drive side pad and toes in the drive side.....
ok before this gets silly... either spend £10s on overpriced Swisstops or get the suggested cork pads off Ebay for 4.99 8 pairs.

My Wiggle Lifeline blue pads squeal alot less the than the origiinal black pads i got with my carbons wheels. They improve braking immensely too. The compound is soft and feels alot nicer to the rim. They are a bargain for 4 for a fiver. I recommend them.

make sure rims/pads are clean, and as above set toe-in

tbh i don't worry about brake noise, it can help warn dozey pedestrians so that they look around and don't step out in front of me
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
