I did Lonesome Pine and Bloody Bush in a single day, didn't see a single other person on the trails. Took a while to find the trails as well because of poor signposting. The Deadwater trails are better for finding them, only downside is the Deadwater Black has a huge fireroad climb. It's not bad otherwise.
Give it a shot, they've got a Youth hostel there as well, so might be worth doing a two day trip.
But yeah, give it a shot, it's not terrible, and Newcastleton is about 25min drive away so that's 3 days of riding in one area.
