Things must have moved on with Shimano shifters. Back in 2004 I had to bin some RSX STIs because
my LBS said they weren't economical to repair. I went on to purchase some Campag Record ergo levers
which complimented the rest of my RSX groupset.0 -
I would be happy to know if there is someone who repairs Shimano, my 105 Shifter are messy from accident and the best price I can find a pair is £114.0

I too have a 9 speed sti lever that needs repairing, Brixton cycles do it apparently. Give them a bell to check.0

thanks, i have checked with brixton cycles and they dont. but they will look at campag.
mercian in derby cant fix them, probably a broken spring they cant replace.
they also do campag repairs.0 -
Shimano 9 speed shifters cannot be repaired. I went through a similar issue a while ago.
There is a chap who does do them, but I think 8 speed only, likewise there is a guy in the US who also repairs them.
Just replace it. 9 speed shifters have dropped quite a lot in price since 11sp has come out. I was selling an Ultegra 9 sp shifter and I couldn't get rid it of it for £20 so ended up giving it away.0 -
Shimano 9 shifts the same amount of cable as Campagnolo 11... so if you can't find a replacement (like some NOS Tiagra 4500), you might as well get a pair of Athena levers, which are quite reasonably pricedleft the forum March 20230
