always use mavic wheels as they came with both my winter bike mavic aksium and my good weather bike mavic ksyrium equipe but my winter bike rear wheel keeps buckling im careful not to go over potholes and i take care of my bikes so is the problem my weight im 6foot tall and 85 kilos my build is athletic .if it is the wheels could anyone recommend a stronger set as both winter and summer bikes only have 20 bladed spokes per wheel thanks for your help paul.

You'll find like I do it is the weight and also added strength bigger riders have that really stress wheels and other components. Your best bet is to find a good local wheel builder / bike shop and ask their advice. It is likely you need more spokes in your wheels as a minimum.0

That said I'm 80kg and stil using a set of 2009 askiums that are fine.
Mine you anecdotal evidence says the newer askiums aren't as bullet proof.Bianchi Infinito CV

Decent hand built wheels will do you much better than machine built wheels. Some Open pros on 105 hubs or similar. I use these on my winter bike hand built by Bicycle works in Edinburgh and they are bomb proof... I'm normally around 82-84kg in winter.0

You are certainly well below the typical weight limits, but I would echo the poster above and submit that you - like nearly everyone - would do better with 32(+) spoked handbuilts.0

28/24 is plenty strong enough for 85 kg, 32 only will be stiffer and more durable.
Even wellbuilt 24/20 can do the job, but less durable.0 -
Most likely your wheel needs retensioning, sounds like you have too low tension, resulting in it going out of alignmentleft the forum March 20230
