Could anybody recommend me a press on pump? I have a lezyne with the threaded hose, which has let me down again. When I pump the tube up the and start to un screw the hose, it screws the valve head out ! Twice stuck on the side of the road. I am going to buy a press on for peace of mind. Any advice welcome.

Thank you, the three Sky clad roadies, who stopped for me in Flixton and go me going again. The 10 mile walk would have been a bummer.
Cheers.

Maybe its the brand of inner tubes you are using?

I have the same pump & not had that problem yet, with various different innertubes....

I really hope you mean "dressed in Sky team gear", because the other definition of "sky clad" is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyclad_(Neopaganism)

You don't need a new pump. You need to tighten your valves with one of these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tufo-valve-key/

    or use some small pliers.

Also dont over tighten the Lezyne hose.

The Lezynes pumps are great (i have 2 of them) there is nothing wrong with them.

You can also buy tubes without removable valves.

Yup, just tighten all the valve cores on all your tubes. Pump is fine.

Thanks for the replies. I have tightened the valves, tried the pump on them and put them in my seat pack after retightening them. On the road, same problem. The tubes are Conti and I was advised to tighten the valves when I had my bike serviced. If anybody has a brand of tube without the removable valve that would be great. After two occasions stuck by the road, something has to change.
Electronsheperd, yes dressed in Sky team gear :)
The pump is great for getting the pressure up, so no problem there, just the valve unscrewing.

I have this problem with Conti tubes too. Am going to invest in the tool recommended above.

I have around 10 spare tubes so won't be buying any new ones for a while. But won't be getting the conti ones again

I use Conti tubes and after tightening it's fine. I've had whatever PlanetX sell and they came without removable valve cores. Also cheap things from Wiggle came without too, I couldn't tell you what they were but they were £2.50 for 2 tubes.

Thanks again, specialized have fixed valves, so the pump will stay :D but no more conti tubes.
    Cheers.
