How to pair a Garmin edge 800 with the new sensors?

I have some new speed and cadence sensors that are supposed to be compatible with the Edge 800 (it's software is up to date) according to Garmin's website but I am struggling to pair the cadence sensor to the unit.
Any advice on how I could do that would be greatly appreciated. A search on the Garmin Connect forums has only given me half the answer and I still have the same problem with the speed sensor being paired and the cadence sensor not being recognised.

Thank you

Havr you set it to speed and cadence rather than speed/cadence in sensor details?

    Thanks JackPozzi.
Yes, have set it to speed and cadence but it only seems to be detecting the speed sensor for some reason.
    Set it this way:
settings, bike settings, bike profiles, bike 2,ANT+Speed/Cadence, Sensor details, Sensor type Speed and Cadence.
Only thing I can think of is to change the cadence battery though the sensor battery is only a couple of months old and not used until yesterday.

Sounds like the right settings. Are you getting any lights on the cad sensor?

No, not on the cadence sensor but yes on the speed sensor.
I have also changed the battery to be sure but still did not get a light on the cadence sensor.
I gather that might be the issue then?

Yes, sounds like that is the problem! Get onto garmin and I'd imagine they'll sort it out pretty quickly.

Just for interest, I bought the speed and cadence sensor in a pack and there was an issue with the terminal on the battery cradle being fitted incorrectly on the speed sensor so the speed sensor did't work. I was able to make it work by swapping the battery holder from the cadence unit onto it. Managed to get them both working by digging out the terminals on the faulty cradle with a knife and realigning them, Wouldn't recommend this but might be worth swapping the battery holders to see if this is the problem..

You're a genius! I just swapped the battery holder from the speed sensor to the cadence sensor and viola, the light on the cadence sensor lit up and once I pressed the search cadence sensor option, the head unit found it within seconds. Thank you so much for responding as swiftly as you did.
