"Of course, it is disappointing to finish second today," he told Directvelo. "The problem is that there were still three riders ahead 400 meters from the finish line. They were still 70-80 meters ahead of us. So I had to start with 400m to go. I had no choice. If I had not donethat , the escapees would surely have made it to the finish. It was all or nothing and unfortunately I lost. I can not be satisfied with second place. Again, this is a real disappointment."

Wins another stage there. Competition is very low but at least it may improve his confidence and team support.

Yes he won the GP de Denain Porte du Hainaut for the 2nd year on roads around those used on Paris-Roubaix (without Pave). (shown "Live" on Eurosport)
This is the 6th race in the 2015 Coupe de France Series and he now leads the competition marginally with 10 more events to come and the next is tomorrow's Tour du Finistère in Brittany and much more lumpy so he's not on the Start Sheet. ?

Now he wins and then gets DQed at Hamburg
“Me, when I move an ear, they are just waiting to punish me for it," Bouhanni said according to L’Equipe. He added, “I believe I won.”

You can't help but feel sorry for Nacer but he *really* doesn't help himself.

It would help if he tried sprinting in a straight line occasionally.

Haha, gave me a little chuckle sat here watching LV that.

Maybe he needs some 'lane guidance warning' like you get on modern spec cars? :)

Just been watching on Eurosport.. the decision seems a bit harsh to me. As much as I'm not fan of Bouhanni I think many other sprinters wouldn't have got DQ'd for that. I've seen much worse that hasn't been penalised. I reckon his reputation had proceeded him.

  • Seems to me it was a more violent version of what Cav did to Kittel in his 4th stage win in the Tour.

The difference here though was Kittel was going backwards and Ewan was moving forwards and Bouhanni checked his progress.

Agree it's harsh, but can see why it was done. As said before, if he knows they're waiting for him to move an ear, maybe he should sprint in a straight line, and not give them an excuse to relegate him

Watching pro cyclists trying to have a fight is embarrassing to everyone involved.

    You can say that again.

  • Am I right in believing that Bouhanni Jr got away with the handbags at dawn incident Scot free? Whilst the other rider, and one of the Cofidis team (not a Bouhanni) both got a 1 minute penalty.
