Axle standards are dictated by the frame (for rear wheel) and forks (for front wheel).

You have to buy hubs that fit (or which can be converted to fit) those standards. You can't just buy any old hubs and expect them to fit your frame and forks.
  • oh i understand now, the back end of my bike takes a 150mm hubs I'm just wondering what axle i would need to secure it in place

thanks for the help so far

Is the frame (dropout) threaded on one side to take a "quick release" screw-in thru axle?

Or are both sides plain holes, which would then require a bolt-thru axle?

those are the two basic types - work out which your frame needs - if you're right that both hub and frame are designed for 150x12, then you should have a match.

As for the front - that hub is set up for a 20mm axle - if your fork uses a different standard, you will need the appropriate adapters (available from superstar).

Some frames use a bespoke axle which only fits that frame. My Nukeproof Scalp has a 150x12 axle which only fits Nukeproof downhill frames.
