Mountain Bike for girlfriend

I want to buy a second hand mountain bike for my girlfriend. She is 5,2" and a size 6-8. I'm looking at spending around £1,000. Has anyone got any suggestions on what to buy?

    Know a couple of girls who get on well with merida geometry, also female cubes are meant to be well designed, good spec. i suppose it depends on what she wants to do with it. for a g 2nd hand you should be able to get something ace.
