Need help buying a bike....

Hi All,
I would appreciate any thoughts or advise on buying a bike. I'm looking to return to riding along with my son and I am completely out of the loop with what's good and what's not.
I have a budget of around £400, I could increase slightly for the right bike. I'm a big chap at 6ft 7 and 23 stone and I've been looking at 23in frames with 29in tyres which I think are suitable for my build.
The below bikes are what I've looking at so far:

Any thoughts or comments on the above on the above bikes would be appreciated. Should I be looking at something else?

    I kicked my return to cycling off with an ex-hire Genesis Mantle 10 from Alpine Bikes at Glentress - was a heck of a bargain and fully refurbished before I got it. That saw me through the thick end of 11000km with usual wear and tear on chains, cassettes and one chain ring.

    Something like that maybe? (I'm only a wee guy though 6'5" & I was 21 stone when I started - I'm still 6'5" but less than 15st now)
