I was thinking exactly that. I can't remember the Dauphine having a circuit stage before?
This is the closest I can remember

This is the just the start; the shape of things to come.
After 2017, most of the WT races will look like this..........exactly like this.

Absolutely, as long as it doesn't get over used and as long as the circuit isn't just a billiard table."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
I've cycled around the Villard-de-Lans area while camping in Autrans. It did get a lot of rain while we were there.0

That said, Stage 6 is potentially a fabulous route - I've ridden all of it except the first bit to Mens, and the terrain and scenery are spectacularly good. The ascents are all different (the Gorges de la Bourne is a true wonder of the world), and there should be some super-fast descents (the Col de Grimone should be particularly thrilling, with the tunnels towards the bottom, including one on a tricky little corner onto a risky bridge-over-a-gorge). I'll be amazed if the field stays together - though there are no steep climbs (Col de Rousset is one that suits powerful riders as much as the specialist climbers), there will be enough opportunities for a group to get away and stay away, I suspect.
Just devastated that I can't be there.0 -
