Rockshox Recon Gold worn stanchions

Hey guys. Recently bought a new dust seal kit and some oil to give my Rockshox Recon Gold 335 front shocks a service. Noticed the gold coating on both stanchions has worn off a fair amount at the front now. Can't afford a new set of forks but wondered if there is any way of getting the stanchions re-coated at all at a reasonable price or am I stuck with them as they are? Have assumed the latter, though with a regular clean and a bit of Fork Juice they function OK (just OK though). Always a bit worried about buying a 2nd hand set of forks as you really don't know what use they've had and how well they've truly been maintained.

Any advice appreciated, cheers.

Just keep riding and maintaining until they are RFUBAR.

Lots of used forks in the family, all work perfectly well (2x2006 and 2x 2009).
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Cheers Rookie, makes sense. Guessing from the lack of responses there isn't a worthwhile fix to re-coating.
