Inspired by Luca Paolini's win today - a victory for an A+ grade domestique.

Which helpers would you like to give deserved credit to?

Do they have to be current?

I thought Navarro was an awesome mountain domestique a few years ago. Szmyd too

everyone sang Paolini's praises at MSR but I thought he pulled off way too early to give Kristoff a chance (he might have been shagged though). I like him as a rider though, just never really think about him as a dom

I love Kiryenka's image as an unstoppable robot.

I have to go for my man CHENG

    And my man Kiry.

But also a thumbs up for new dad Bernie.

Random, and in no particular order: Vuillermoz, Burghardt, Oss, Paolini (of course), Fuglsang, Eisel, Tuft, Tosatto, Bak, Rast, Veikkanen and Tom Veelers all seem to do a tonne of work for their respective leaders.

Going back, Kelly always rated Wegmuller. Stronger than Yates apparently. Current riders? Kiri.

Paolini is a bit wasted as a domestique talent wise.

Sure Iain will pop up with Sylvester Smyd.

Hincape was irritatingly good during his USP days.

Ha Ha, No answer so back to 1988/1989/1990 for my favourite Domestique

A Mr Miguel Indurain, he he, that should get the "Clinic" types going.

Even Biking Bernie did protest until he was educated.

Vandenbergh. OK he's been making some "questionable" decisions lately, but the guy seems to spend most of his time pulling on the front in almost every race and as a bonus is so huge he must be wonderful to ride behind.

Always had time for Steve Morabito. Big role in Cadel's win in 2011 and pretty unglamorous but just gets on with the job.

Vuillermoz is one of the best climbing domestiques around. Porte was obviously amazing in 2013.

Vandenbergh is one of the best workhorses in the peloton. The problem is that he's so strong that he's finding himself at the sharp end of races and he wants some of the glory for himself.

Jens Voigt was a great domestique back in the day.

Michael Rogers deserves a mention for tolerating Wiggins and Contador.

Got to have a quick mention of Tony Martin here. Possibly not fair to in include him as a domestique, but he certainly chips in with the household chores when required.

Wiggins - Apparently does great work in the early part of races before dropping off...

Oss has been immense this season, Kiri and Bernie seem to think they were born to ride on the front of a bunch all day, Rowe i splaying an important role and hopefully gaining experience for when it's his turn. I'd chuck in most of the Movistar team too, happy to batter themselves for Valverde and Quintana. These assume we are talking current riders. As above, Tony Martin really does his bit despite being a top flight rider in his own right. I'd still love to see him riding the northern Classics though, you would have thought yesterday would have suited him perfectly.
  • Bert Grabsch circa 2009. Must have ridden 30-50km on the front every day on Cav's six wins

Ah I was just going to mention Big Bert Grabsch. He quite rightly got some love as the precursor to CHENG in the CHENG thread.

    More seriously:
    - Tiralongo, didn't Contador once gift him a stage at the Giro despite riding for different teams as a way of showing his gratitude.
    - Hesjedal has been putting some solid super domestique turns over the last couple of seasons.
    - Hansen must be doing something right to ride as many GTs as he has as a domestique...
