I have Campagnolo 9 speed Veloce rear derailleur that needs replacing. I can't find Xenon or Veloce in long cage the only one is this. But will it work?

I have some ceramic jockey wheels I'll take off the other derailleur and move it to this one.

Yes it will work. I use this Champ long cage mech which replaced my broken mid cage Veloce a few years ago. Works better than the old mech on my nine speed triple set-up. The two black knuckle bits are plastic, the rest metal.0

I have been using a short cage rear centaur with a 10speed 12/29 cassette and a tripl 30/39/50 chainset for over a year. It works fine.the rear mech can not take up all the slack chain in small sprockets and granny ring but I never intentionally use this combination. If I do there is no disaster I just have a drooping chain.
As far as I am aware all campag rear mechs can handle the same max sprocket 29t. The only difference is in chain wrap.
I just do not see the need for a long cage rear mech.0 -
I managed to trace a company who sells 30t campag cogs. And once fitted to my 9 speed winter bike with standard RD I have no issues at all. But I think I couldn't go any larger.Specialized S Works SL2 . Campagnolo Record 11spd. rolling on Campag Zonda wheels
