Looking for a packable rain jacket and saw 25% off the rapha race cape. Any owners out there who'd give it a thumbs up or down? Are there better candidates out there than the race cape?

it's good, it's not THAT packable, it's a tight fit, it's probably as breathable as any fully waterproof jacket, ie ok, but it has limits

I would look at the new Gore Oxygen 2 jacket too

i love mine, you can roll it up into a fairly small size pre ride to go in a pocket but once your out its not as easy to stuff in a pocket....

I'd love another so i can cut the arms of my current one for summer showers....

  • I have to agree: I have one and really like it, it's very waterproof for a thin fabric but it only just fits in a back pocket with some careful folding, and even then it's a bit bulky.

In terms of sizing it's designed to fit over a racing jersey and so is quite a snug fit and short. I normally take a medium size in Pro Team gear but went for a large so I could wear it over more different types of gear.

I like mine, it's race fit so go up a size!

Unless you can actually wear 'race fit' clothing that is.
