Recently returning mtb, looking for a new bike preferably a 27.5 wheel. Now to get down to the nitty gritty, last year i bought a bike but ended up selling it after 6 months due to not having a lot of people to ride with etc atleast that was my excuse, anyway a mate of mine recently got a bike and started pestering me to get one. Im going to get one as i think its far more enjoyable way of cardio and fun too, the quandry is how much to spend. I dont want to spend over a grand but keep toying with idea of getting something cheaper and upgrading stuff as they either break or i feel i want to upgrade it. I want a tough hardtail trail bike plus a bit of xc, 27.5 wheel preferable, 120 plus travel. Ive looked at the Saracen mantra pro and the vitus senteri. Any other options or thoughts? Thanks.

Don't think somebody read everything, bar possibly the canyon, which of those is under £1000?
The Bizango is a very well regarded bike and would do you well, the boardmans hardtail are supposed to be pretty good as well, plus they are 27.5.
Lots of ways of getting money off at halfords, such as joining British cycling.
I reckon this would be a good option http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/m ... 28Agg#tab20 -
On-one 45650b. Excellent value for money & i believe they are even cheaper at the moment.0

I'll throw the 2015 650b Carrera Fury in to the mix.
Pretty similar spec to the Boardman COMP HT with the added benefit of a 15mm front axle and being £50 cheaper.
I have the 26" version and it's handled everything I've thrown at it so far._______________
