Planning on doing a weeks training camp next year as I hit the big 40 !!!

Have been to Veloventoux and done Marmotte. Also been to Mallorca a few times and others in group go to Train in Spain regularly.

Wondering if anyone else has any suggestions/recommendations for something differernt - maybe Dolomites or have heard good reports about Vamous Cycling.

Week can include a sportive/event but it is not a deal breaker..Just want good cycling and lot of it.

Thinking of going end of May.

Cheers,
Paul.

You could do a lot worse than this, if you don't know the area. Limitless possibilities for varied riding in the area. http://www.sportcommunication.info/web2 ... trophee=57

I'm biased, so might suggest staying south of the Vercors plateau for the week: it's more Mediterranean climate that end, and is fabulous for riding in every direction.

We did a week at our house on Lake Como last October, plenty of riding to be had and cracking scenery too.

    Advocate of disc brakes.
  • Hi, options are unlimited:) I would suggest to go to Gran Canaria, French Pyrenees or Dolomites, Italy. Those are 3 different destinations and you would get absolutely different experience.
Gran Canaria is perfect for winter training camp because of the perfect weather and smooth roads.
French Pyrenees - those are simply my favorite mountains where to go in Summer. I like all those climbs: Tourmalet, Aubisque, Hautacam, Port de Bales etc.
The Dolomites - superb views, very tough climbs and delicious meals. Italy is superb. You may look at Maratone delles Dolomites event. That's something similar to Marmotte, but harder.
You are welcome to contact me about more information:)
