which 29er £400

Hi all,
Its been a while since I last got muddy but as I have gained loads of weight I've decided to by a 29er.
I'm only a novice but as I live 3 miles from Cannock chase I thought id have a go.
Haven't got much money so I set my budget at £400.
After doing a little research I've dwindled down to two bikes...
The VooDoo Aizan @£399 at Halfords or a 2014 GT KARAKORAM SPORT @£399 from my local shop daves cycles.
Which is the better bike for the money?

Any advice much appreciated, maybe you know a better bike for the money??

Voodoo Aizan definitely.

GT has a fork that should be burned with fire. Undamped with mechanical lock out.
So the Voodoo.
