I am riding a route and my wife wants to track me so she can meet me towards the end of the route.
Is there an app she can follow me on her phone?

Potential can of worms there mate, she will be tracking you every where you go in future!0

Find My Friends for iPhone works for me.0

Cyclemeter on the iPhone can do this - a fantastic app as well!0

Lots available. Glympse fairly easy to use and doesnt require a smartphone (or at least the same one) at the other end. Strava app does it as well.http://www.fachwen.org

Strava doesn't as far as I can tell, at least on iPhone.0

I've never tried it but Strava does have an option to see active friends, if theyve enabled it in their recording screen on the phone. Not sure if it shows a blow by blow track of where you are or just some info on where you started and how long you've been running or riding. Some info here:

If you've got an edge 510, 810 or 1000 you can use Live Track. The good lady made me upgrade ( ) to an 810 so she could track me on rides in case I crash (I'm good at that). It also came in handy when I locked her out of the house - she tracked me down.0

The Endomondo app does live tracking i recall.
That'll let her know how long she's got to finish off the milkman.0 -

I use Glympse too - you send the 'glympse' (recipient doesn't even need the app - although its better if they do) and set a time limit after which it expires - which resolves Frank Wilson's concerns as you she can only track you when YOU want her to!!"I look pretty young, but I'm just back-dated"0

Thanks for the info guys plenty to choose from.Colnago c60 Eps super record 11

Glympse for me too.0

Just had a look at Glympse, looks good but I also tried Pathshare. The latter 'looks' much better and 'fits' with the phone's OS better. Also, the method to share is easier to use - rather than the huge list of users, you pick the tool (email, text, facebook, whatever) and use that tool's contact selector.
Otherwise, very similar.0 -
Why don't you just tell her where to meet you?
I appreciate this completely removes the need for any app related tomfoolery, but it's what normal people have done for years.0 -

So by tracking me she can get to the finish when I am not to far away.Colnago c60 Eps super record 11

You could use an app (for android) called 'macrodroid'. You can set it to relay your location every 60 minutes, or whatever time you specify, via sms or email.

I've tried it and it just pops up on friends feeds telling them you're 'active' and continues telling them for hours after your ride too.0 -
+1 for Glympse.
Garmin LiveTrack can to be flaky (particularly if you lose mobile signal) and doesn't work for everyone (there is a recent thread somewhere) - it used to work for me, then stopped doing so :-( Great when it works, however!0 -
Another one for Garmin LiveTrack, everyone I've sent the link to has said it is really good.
No one has complained about any signal issues etc.
Regardless of what anyone uses, I think it is great that friends/family can see where you are etc - this is mainly why I actually bought the 510 (I did need another cycle computer )0 -
Good god man, you want to give your wife technology to track your every move ???
*shakes head*0 -
You don't need an app as long as you are sharing location with your iPhone.
Just open iMessage and look at details in top right and it will show your location on a map if you are sharing location with that individual.0 -
