    It is to go from talking about a possible loose hub on a mountain bike to then talk about buying a new hub to 'fix' it to then link to a 4k POS roadish bike in the MTB forum, yes.

    anyway have you got the cone spanners out and tightened the hub bearings to sort that issue and is there still noise coming from the brake?

    Its usually the rear brake that gets affected with noise from dragging it or oil getting on the pads.

    Because I like mountain biking, and touring, and ant activity involving bicycles. Is that abnormal then? :D

    We accept your alleigance includes mountain biking but ant activity including you and a consenting ant is frowned upon by us - well most of us. Myself I dont mind a bit of insect from time to time or arthropod. I've had a few crabs you know.
