In waving goodbye to the winter is anyone aiming to welcome Spring with a monumental bike ride?*

*Monumental is relative to the individual. :D

A pic to get you in the mood and unfortunately nothing to do with me except for googling spring bike ride...

    Are shorts mandatory?

Because on this mornings ride, 4 or 5 days (whichever way you count it) prior to Spring springing, my Garmin recorded zero degrees.

Was quite cool this morning, but now full sun and 14'C (Brittany).

Just did a cheeky 2 hours in full summer gear....hooray!

Many moons ago I organised a summer solstice crudders ride over Cannock Chase to watch the sunrise.

Early start, night lights and we froze our knackers off. On the plus side we took some portable BBQ's for a fine breakfast.....i remember the sunrise but also my mates bumping their gums regarding the temperature...

Got excited that I might be able to wear shorts a moment ago, sun beaming, blue skies, house felt quite warm from the sun... then I took the bin out and I'll stick to the leggings for a while.

Out yesterday, leggings and long sleeves required, bit of a cross wind, only 20 odd miles but a lovely ride. :)

Wearing shorts all winter. I had ditched the knee warmers but had to get them back out again. Very poor show from mother nature this year.

I feel it was said very tongue in cheek, those being probably the two flattest counties in the UK :D:D

I think he just looked at the long flat road and failed to notice the background but who knows.

Verylonglegs... Even the road in the foreground has more accent than Norfolk and Lincolnshire. Driving along the A153 and A17 is like being on a giant snooker table, I've never seen anywhere so open and flat.

4 degrees here at 8am. Sunny though until I got back home.

Saw a total of 7 cyclists out and about.

30 miles yesterday morning it didn't get above 7 degrees up here and cloudy, certainly didn't feel like spring

By contrast 40 miles today in pure sunshine and 12 degrees :D I'd forgotten what it's like, great ride 8)

I had my third TT of the year this morning- blimey it was a major departure from the last 2 weekends TTs and club runs! Saturday 2 weeks ago was the first time the bare legs came out, and last Saturday was mild(ish).

But this morning was very wintry again- it was 5C and breezy riding to the start at the crack of dawn, and reached a sweltering 6-7C out on the course, the winter kit had another outing!

At least it tends to get mild if not warm in the afternoons though- the Sun seems to finally have some of its warmth back.

Windy old day! Rode down to the New Forest and back for my first double century of the year and longest ever ride on fixed. Lovely day, but feeling it now.

    200 miles fixed? Nutter...

Still felt very much like winter here this morning. Average temp. 3.3c according to Garmin. Turned into a lovely afternoon though but I wanted to be back for MSR.

Several parts of my body agree completely! Hell of a lot harder than with gears, especially with the wind on my nose for good amounts of it.
