Leg Warmers

Can anyone recommend a decent set of leg warmers?

Ideally a set that will stay up - even on my long, skinny legs!

Also wondered if anyone has come across a set that can be taken off without having to remove your shoes? I've seen a few brands that have ankle zips but they don't always look like they would go over a cleated shoe.

The Aldi/Lidl ones haven't let me down yet.
Have a look at Galibier.cc 's ones, haven't heard a complaint from any of my clubmates.
Galibier will post straight to your door and are ridiculously good value.

Both have zips at the bottom, you'd be able to slip them off over your shoes no bother I think.

    Hope this helps :D

I have some Louis garneau ones - zip bottoms fine for going over shoes. Do u tuck them under your shorts as I'm struggling to why any leg warmers would fall down. Unless you have matchstick thighs. I have Hoy-esque thighs so can't emphasise.

Reading customer reviews on various sites it seems to be a common problem.

I do have matchstick thighs though.

    I can't empathise that enough. :)

slipped my aldi ones off over my big fitting 10.5 shoes this morning, Galibier ones have similar length zips.

I have cheapo Bontrager ones with a zipped ankle and they go on and off over my shoes no problem. I am short with not-skinny legs though so can't comment on the staying up issue.

I actually have a set of Sportful ones which I will be getting rid of. Not because they won't stay up but because they are so long. They sit so far up my legs that I suspect they will cause chaffing. They also don't have an ankle zip.

Have you thought about getting a smaller size? Italian brands do make some small stuff.

I agree with that, I have the no rain ones in a small and they are still really long!

I also have DHB leg warmers, the old Roubaix ones (the updated version are the Regulate Warm) but I also have the Regulate Light ones which don't have the fleece lining - I like to keep warm so they're great in cool-but-not-cold conditions. I find they stay up well, the bottom cuff has silicon strips on the inside, the upper cuff has it on the inside and outside so it holds against your skin and shorts. The Roubaix ones (and I think the Regulate Warm do as well) have a seam behind the knee to avoid the annoying bunching that happens when you're pedalling, the Regulate Light don't but they're a lot thinner so it isn't such an issue.

I like my Castelli Nanoflex leg warmers, not sure you could get them off without taking your shoes off though despite the ankle zipper (possibly but not tried as only wear them with winter boots). They stay up fine and are comfy to ride in (which is more than I can say for the arm warmer equivalent).

Yepp, I think they are great and wear them all through the winter, etc., but there is no way you could get them over shoes as they are quite slim around the ankles (which suits me). I wear them with normal shoes (and oversocks) and always need to remove the shoes first.

I wear Specialised arm and leg warmers and they have been good, no complaints. A few deals on them at the moment too, if you shop about.
