Sure this has been done before, but can't find a thread on it.....

I have this : http://bikesport.bg/en/products/506-fsa-team-issue-cranks-_ FSA Team Issue (53/39) carbon crankset that was designed for 10 speed chains.

Can I use it with a Shimano 11 Speed chain, which it pre-dates? If so, will shifting performance be impacted in any way?

cheers

Simon

    No problems.

I run a 10 speed chain on a nine speed bike, nicest shifting I've had in a while on that bike.

...it can also not work. I experienced chain suck with 11sp when I had 10sp rings. Usually shifting was okay but occasional the chain wouldn't release from the ring and get sucked back up towards the front mech. It was a real pain and a little dangerous so I changed the rings.

shimano 9/10/11 speed chainset should be fine on any 9/10/11 speed chain
