Hi guys

I am looking to purchase one of the below bikes on cycle to work scheme. Planning to use it to commute in London with about 12-14 mile trip each way. Also want to be able to do some weekend riding, including track-towpath type stuff?

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on these?

Hoy .003: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/hoy ... e-ec051520
Cannondale Sora: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/can ... e-ec071034

Also any thoughts on drop bars/flat. I have ridden since I was a kid and never used drops, how much harder/different are they?

Thanks so much for any help!
Toby

Drop bars are more comfortable over longer distances as you have more hand positions to use. Flat bars make the bike easier to manoeuvre and also more stable if the going gets rougher. Both have disc brakes which are good for commuting as they work well in the wet or dry and will stop heavier riders fine.

Thanks! Which of the two do you feel has the edge?

I'd go for the Hoy, if you need a different hand position, fit some bar ends.

I regularly do 50-60 mile rides on flat bars, if the position is right, it will be fine!

That said check out this range for better value http://www.planetx.co.uk/c/q/bikes/road ... ondon-road
