.... to get the summer bike out tomorrow?

Just took mine off the turbo and got set for a "scorcher" in West Yorkshire tomorrow (13deg!)

I only replace the tyres in summer and I took off the fast ones about 2 weeks ago... at the end of the little ice age

It's a real bugger fitting mudgaurds on my summer bike, so i've been riding the CX with road tyres since about October. Really looking forward to the change :)

I only have the one but it won't be long until the mudguards are off and summer tyres fitted :)

I'll be heading out but looks like being windy as you like tomorrow so that will probably ruin it for me!

I ride on a lot of country roads and all the rain we had last weekend and the start of this week has got rid of most of the mud and stuff that was on the roads and with the temperatures being a bit higher the past few days grit should be at a minimum.

Go for it, life's too short :-)

  • First go on Kwaremont, Paterberg and Koppenberg since September tomorrow. Spring has sprung!

I've decided they're just bad weather and good weather bikes. Or head up vs. Head down bikes.

My dry bike is staying on the turbo for another few weeks, it'll be more use on there.

yep, got out on the CR1 SL for the second time this year, but first time on summer wheels. Felt great, then realised the wind was giving me a push as well 8) Bit of a battle into the wind for the return leg but still a very different feel to my winter Tifosi. Loved it. Ironically I've just bought a second pair of Kinesis CXDs for my Crosslight so I can easily change to road tyres since going tubeless on my set shod with knobblies. I can see me using that bike well into summer with fatter road tyres as the roads round here are pretty much shot to pieces with potholes, etc.

It was a bit blowy out, but did a circular route, so swings & roundabouts. Was very nice to get the summer/dry bike out. Short sleeves and shorts too! Looks set to stay dry for tomorrow as well :D

Eh!? Something wrong with this. One life, as many bikes as you can get.....ride them all!!
  • I didn't manage to get out today, but I really wish I had.

I only have one bike, and that stays with mudguards and and a rack all year round!

First day out in shorts this year. Very warm but felt like I had a headwind whichever direction I rode in.

  • Yes it had to be done didn't it! Felt amazingly quick on the way out, then the penny dropped that the difference wasn't so much the bike but that I'd had a mighty tailwind up to that point.

Been out on my Defy Advanced 2 since I bought it a month ago. Went out in shorts for the first time a couple of days ago as well - roll on summer!

Got out for a quick spin on the summer bike yesterday, I'd forgotten how good it is to ride. New PB on my go-to short hilly loop. :)

I took the mudguards off on Friday night, washed it all and baby wiped the whole thing down.

Looking out of the window this morning and it looks like like summer is over for 2105 already.

I don't have a seperate bike but I'm still on my winter wheels. Getting close to the time to put the summer wheels back on, but we're not there yet as my requirement is that the roads stop getting salted, and given my tyres turned white yesterday then there's still plenty of salt about!
